Boundless Harmonies
"Their Stories, Our Shared Humanity"
Boundless Harmonies is an immersive and multi-sensory exhibition that fosters a deeper understanding of the
experiences, struggles, and contributions of migrant workers in Singapore.
Through interactive narratives and sensory-driven installations, the exhibition aims to inspire tangible action through
active participation like hands-on engagement so as to urge both locals and migrants to work together towards a
more empathetic and integrated society.

PROCESS
My design process began with a walk along my assigned
slice of the city, from Fort Canning Road to Esplanade Drive.
I conducted multiple observational studies, and built a wearable
device to experience and record key sensory patterns along
the slice.

"Slice of Symbiosis"
During my slice walk, I spotted a gap between the local
community and migrant workers due to the lack of connection.
The manifested misconceptions and prejudices limit the social
interaction, which results in indifference and social stagnation.

These insights helped guided the development of a focused
1-meter intervention (1:200 scale), thereafter exploring multiple
permutations to generate an innovative design for social impact.

My chosen site is located at the open space outside Capitol
Theatre, where it best represents my city of symbiosis due
to the active involvement of different communities and activities,
thus making it a potential location for a design
intervention for social impact.
